Police Plan DUI Patrols For Holiday Weekend

During the Labor Day weekend, police will increase their patrols in an effort to seek out and arrest drunken drivers traveling on local roads.

Police said in a statement that they will have extra officers on duty on roving patrols from Thursday September 1, through Monday, September 5. The officers working on the roving patrols will focus their enforcement on drunken driving violations.

A grant from the Department of Highway Safety will cover a majority of the police overtime expenses stemming from the heightened DUI enforcement project, police said.
