Newtown’s Sensational Summer Camp Program

The Recreation Department of Newtown should be recognized for the outstanding summer camp program that was conducted during this past summer. Our child attended every session of the camp at Treadwell and absolutely loved every moment of it.

The camp was a wonderful and positive experience for most, if not all, of the children. We made it a point of dropping off or picking up our child at various times to ensure the standards were up to our expectations — we were never disappointed. The director and assistant director were fully engaged, positive, and encouraged feedback from parents regarding ideas and ways to improve the program being offered.

The counselors at the camp are terrific examples of the types of young, mature adults that are being produced from our community and school system. These high school and college students are creative, fun, highly energetic individuals with positive attitudes. Jesse, Jack, Ben, and John are just a few of the counselors that we’d like to say “thank you” to. They provided a wonderful and exciting summer for the children of Newtown and the opportunity to create everlasting memories that every child should be able to experience.

We wanted to say thank you to the Recreation Department for leading and delivering these types of community programs for our children. Also, we like to thank the community of Newtown for continuing to strive toward excellence and providing our families with a positive environment and spirit that enables us to be the best that we can be, for today and the future of our town.
