‘Newtown Notables’ Will Make

A Special Encore Appearance

Newtown Historical Society will bring back the ghosts of Newtown in the program “Newtown Notables, Gone but not forgotten.” An encore performance will be held on Monday, September 12, at Newtown Meeting House, 31 Main Street, at 7:30 pm.

The performance will be an adapted encore of a Newtown Tercentennial program that was presented this past spring. In May, ticket-holders toured Village Cemetery where they were “greeted” by reenactors who brought to life some of the town’s more historic residents.

The historical meeting house will lend its own special atmosphere for the indoor version of this program. Several of the ghosts sat in the pews or preached from the pulpit of this former church during their lifetime.

Each ghost will appear to tell their own personal story, while a tour of Village Cemetery will be given through slides.
