Julia Wasserman
There will be a celebration of Julia Wasserman’s life, Saturday, September 26, from 2 to 4 pm, at the Fairfield Hills Campus, adjacent to the Newtown Municipal Center, 3 Primrose Street.
Mrs Wasserman, Newtown’s state representative for 18 years until her retirement in 2008, died August 18.
Mrs Wasserman also served on the Newtown Legislative Council, the Conservation/Wetlands Commission, the Sewer Avoidance Committee, the Fairfield County Soil and Water Conservation District, and as legislator, on the Fairfield Hills Oversight Committee. She was a member of the Newtown League of Women Voters for many years and owner of Medridge Farm Christmas Trees in Sandy Hook.
