Submariner Torpedoes Cheaters, Thieves

To the Editor:

I wish to start the letter by thanking all the honest people that stop at my small chicken/duck eggs honor system on Toddy Hill Road. There are many nice people in our area that use an honor system to sell their fruits, veggies, eggs, etc, and we appreciate your honesty.

We work hard to provide you with the best we have. We are not Big Y or Shop Rite, but we believe we give you a good price after all the hard work we do.

We trust you all and again “thank you!”

But it’s sad that to say there is always one (maybe more) in the crowd that will stop and steal, cheat us, or put just a few small bills in our cash boxes. Or they don’t weigh tomatoes etc, they just take.

So here I can vent……

Please don’t bother to stop at my place if that is your intention — it’s still called stealing. As for me, I don’t need your business. Please pass me by.

The other day someone took about eight nice ripe and special “TOE — MATERS” and gave me $5. That’s sooo rude and nasty. Please don’t come back because I don’t need cheaters.

Another person took dozen of eggs. I ask for $5 and he put in $3 dollars.

Hey, if you are hungry, or lost your job, just ask me — I will gladly give you food, but don’t cheat and be dishonest. “Us” honor system farmers just ask you to please be honest, it goes a long way.

I am a disabled submarine war veteran. Please come see me at the Labor Day parade, I bet you all remember me! I’m looking forward to seeing you all again.

As old submarine sailors say, “DBF.” Ask me what it means when we meet.

Thank you,

Ed Cedor

First, thank you for your service. Second, I’m amazed anyone pays. I put some stuff out on my yard with a very nice ‘FREE’ sign. They took the sign and left the stuff.
