LAKE PLACID, New York - Heather Huntington, formerly of Newtown, performed so well at the Ford Ironman race in Lake Placid, New York, recently that she qualified for the world championships this October in Kona, Hawaii.
LAKE PLACID, New York â Heather Huntington, formerly of Newtown, performed so well at the Ford Ironman race in Lake Placid, New York, recently that she qualified for the world championships this October in Kona, Hawaii.
Heather, a 1987 graduate of Newtown High School, finished the Lake Placid race (2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride, and 26.2 marathon) in 11 hours, 12 minutes to finish fourth out of 119 competitors in the female 35-39 division.
She was 33rd out of 610 women competing in the race and 255th overall out of 2,208 total participants.
Heather graduated from Wittenberg University and currently is pursuing a masterâs degree in education at the University of Colorado. She resides in Lafayette, Colorado.
