Newtown High School No. 1 golfer Will Lokey aced the ninth hole and earned medalist honors as Newtown defeated Brookfield 158-172 in the season opener, at Rock Ridge Country Club, on August 21. Lokey carded a 36, Jack Wishneski had a 38, Andrew Goldsmith 40, Quinn Kull 44, and Matt Pontore 48 in the season-opening victory.

The Nighthawks followed up the home course win with a victory over host Joel Barlow of Redding at Redding Country Club on August 26. NHS won 164-176. Lokey again took medalist honors with a score of 36. Goldsmith had a 41, Kull 43, Jamie Piccuillo 44, and Wishneski rounded out Newtown’s top five with a 45.
