ak/gs set 8/30 #710847

LEBANON, CONN. — The Jonathan Trumbull Jr House Museum on the historic Lebanon Green sponsors “Art on the Green,” Saturday, September 15, from 10 am to 3 pm. The art show will take place outdoors on the museum lawn, rain or shine. The museum, owned by the Town of Lebanon, is at 780 Trumbull Highway (Route 87). Admission is free.

More than 20 area artists will exhibit and sell their artwork in a variety of media, including oils, acrylics, watercolors, pastels, batik, pottery and photography; Nachomee Naiche, great-granddaughter of Cochise, the famous Apache leader, uses batik, a hot wax and dyeing process, to complete her original Native American drawings on linen, Nat Brown will display his digital art, a mix of modern technology and very traditional landscapes and nature scenes, that result in a pointillist-like watercolor.

Watercolor and pastel paintings on a variety of papers will highlight Ann Vaillencourt’s booth. Her landscapes and still life florals are all professionally framed on archival materials. John Bendoraitis does all his own printings, matting and framing for his digital photographs. He likes to capture flowers and landscapes, especially of Cape Cod.

Other artists exhibiting include Nancy Bergeron, Michael Elias, Cheryl Trask, Nancy Michaud and Antonia Putnam, Randy Anagnostis and Gisela Toisi, Valerie Andrews, Bill Tedeschi and Dorothy Tedeschi, Frank Russell, Susan Porter, Jamie DeRienzo, Sharon Gatzke, Sue Kane, Gloria Bigenski, Adele Johnson and Antoinette Willard.

At the close of the one-day “Art on the Green” show, many of the artists will move their exhibits to the historic Wadsworth Stable on the rounds of the Governor Trumbull House, owned by the Connecticut DAR, on the west side of the green. The renovated stable is a unique site for art exhibits and provides another opportunity for visitors to view the work. The stable, at 169 West Town Street, will be open weekends from noon to 4 pm through October 13.
