Paul L. Carney
DANVERS, MASS. — Paul L. Carney, age 81, went home to God on Thursday, August 25, 2022. He was predeceased by his parents, Jack and Mary (Abert); infant daughter, Cynthia Ann; three brothers, Jack, Robert, and Ralph; and two brothers-in-law, Edward and Frederick Currier.
He is survived by his best friend and wife of 56 years, Linda (Currier); daughter, Terri (John) Reisert of Sandy Hook, Conn.; three adoring grandchildren, Gabrielle, Kristen, and Patrick; brother, William (Eileen) of Bow, N.H.; sister-in-law, Alexis Currier; and 13 much-loved nieces and nephews.
Paul worked at The United Shoe and its affiliates for 43 years and at The Medical Group for nine years. He served his country in The National Guard for six years.
Paul was known for his youthful spirit, wonderful sense of humor, generosity, and selflessness. He loved his family dearly and always put their needs and everyone else’s needs ahead of his own. His grandchildren miss him terribly already and will now look to heaven for his guidance. Paul was extremely well read and very interested and active in politics. Paul had a special soul that attracted people and animals alike. He loved all creatures great and small and had an extra special way with children and animals. His granddaughter, Gabrielle, described him as someone who made every life he touched a little more special.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Leahy Hospice and Beverly Hospital for the great care they provided Paul.
