Mr and Mrs Jonathan Mecca

Casey Lynn Novak and Jonathan Leigh Mecca were married on July 26, 2008, at the home of the bride’s parents, Thomas and Mary-Kay Novak, in Sandy Hook. Justice of the Peace Marianne Malkin officiated.

The bride, a former Sandy Hook resident herself, was given into marriage by her father. She wore a strapless tea-length dress for her big day, and carried a bouquet that featured sunflowers and lilies.

Ashley Christopher of Newtown was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Stacey Smagala of Milford and Jennifer Mecca of Waterbury (the groom’s sister). Kaylie Mecca of Watertown was junior bridesmaid and Julia Mecca of Watertown was the flower girl.

Jonathan is a son of William and Helen Mecca of Waterbury. His brothers Paul and David shared the role of best man, while Ryan Novak, brother of the bride, also served as an usher.

Jonathan is a graduate of Central Connecticut State University. He is employed as a sales manager at Pitney Bowes in Shelton.

Casey did her undergraduate studies at UMass-Amherst, and then earned her master of science in education at the University of Bridgeport. She is now a social studies teacher at Brookfield High School.

Following a honeymoon in Antigua, the Meccas have returned to their home in Milford.
