Helen Arnone Casey, 73, died at her home in Bridgeport, August 21. Mrs Casey was born to Aniela and Anthony Usowski in Greenwich, September 223, 1934.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Frank and Suzanne Arnone of Newtown, Ralph and Joanne Arnone of Bridgeport, Robert and Wendi Arnone of Wakefield, R.I., and Aniela and Rick Savona of Norwalk; her stepchildren, Meghan Parker and Michael Casey of Maine; ten grandchildren, Timothy, Christopher, Julia, Molly, Joseph, Sophia, Ella, Matthew, Nicholas, and Cameron; two brothers and their spouses, Ted and Josephine Usowski of Greenwich, and John Usowski and Marge Bennett of Purchase, N.Y. Mrs Carey is also survived by two childhood friends with whom she had remained close, Jean Fogg of Port Chester, N.Y., and âCookieâ Sciarillo of Greenwich. She also had several cousins in Stamford.
Mrs Carey attended Saint Maryâs Grammar School in Greenwich and graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in Stamford. She went on to study and complete her nursing studies at Saint Raphaelâs Hospital in New Haven. It was in 1955 that she met her first husband and father of her four children, the late Ralph J. Arnone, Jr. She married James E. Casey in December, 1978. Mrs Carey was predeceased by him.
Besides being a devoted mother and grandmother, Mrs Carey was a registered nurse with the Greenwich Hospital, Nathaniel Witherall, Greenwich Laurleton, and Stamford Public Health and Schools. She was a longtime resident of Greenwich and was known for her love of that town, as well as for her family, arts and crafts, interior design, gardening, and shopping. She will be missed by the many who loved her.
Funeral services were held August 24 at the Fairfield funeral home of Edmund W. Dougiello. Burial was private.
