Cleaning Out Closets And Raising Some Cash:

Coldwell Banker Planning A Benefit Tag Sale

Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage will hold a tag sale on Saturday, September 20, at its office at 45 South Main Street. The sale will run from 9 am to 3 pm, and all proceeds will be donated to Kevin’s Community Center.

Kevin’s Community Center, Inc is a nonprofit, free medical clinic founded in 2002 by Dr and Mrs Z. Michael Taweh of Newtown in memory of their son Kevin. The clinic’s mission is to provide free health care for residents over the age of 16 who are uninsured or underinsured and have limited financial resources. Eighty-five percent of funds and resources raised for operations go directly to patient services.

Since the clinic opened its doors, KCC has served nearly 3,000 patients. It has provided more than the equivalent of $1.5 million in free medical services.

Coldwell Banker will begin accepting tag sale donation items on Sunday, September 14, between the hours of 9 am and 5 pm.

“New and gently used items such as furniture, electronics, jewelry, tools, sporting goods, toys, infant items, dishes, glasses, books, CDs, DVDs, and video games are some examples of items that would be most welcome,” said Kathy Berg, Coldwell Banker’s event chair. Cash donations are also welcome.

Please note that clothing and mattresses will not be accepted.

Hot dogs and refreshments will be sold during the tag sale, and balloons will be available for the kids. “This will be an exciting event with all proceeds helping Newtown residents experiencing a health care crisis,” said Andy Sachs, a committee member.

For more information call 426-5679 and ask for any of the agents on the Tag Sale Committee: Kathy Berg, Peter Wilson, Karen Michel, Kathy Suhoza, Diane Deakin and Andy Sachs.
