Registration Deadline For ACT
Registration Deadline For ACT
College-bound high school students who want to take the ACT assessment on the October 25 national test date should register by the postmark deadline of September 19.
The late registration deadline is October 3 (an additional fee is required). Students can get registration materials from their school counselor or register online at www.act.org.
Virtually all colleges in the nation, including all Ivy League schools, accept ACT scores. The test is given in all 50 states. The test fee is $26. A studentâs ACT scores are considered by colleges for admissions and course placement, along with several other important factors including high school GPA, college prep courses taken in high school, extracurricular activities, personal background, and other information.
The ACT is an achievement test that includes four parts: English, reading, mathematics, and science. The ACT is not an aptitude test, but is based on the curriculum taught in high school and what colleges expect students to know when they begin their first year at college. Students are urged to take sample tests before the test date to become familiar with the format. Free sample tests are available from high school counselors and sample questions can be found on ACTâ website. The website also offers inexpensive practice tests and a CD-ROM that gives students an instant test score and study tips.
