Jeanne B. McIntosh

Jeanne B. (Gantert) McIntosh, of Westview Lane, Brookfield, devoted wife of the late Ralph A. McIntosh, Sr, died on August 20 at Danbury Hospital. She was born in Danbury on February 4, 1932, daughter of the late Emil and Lena (Ginty) Gantert. She was a graduate of Danbury High School and a lifetime member of the Danbury area community.

Mrs McIntosh will be missed by her loving children, Ralph A. McIntosh and his wife, Donna, of Newtown, Sally Kelly and her husband, Shane, of Woodbury, and Kathryn Keane of Wilmington, Vt., six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by brother, Harold Gantert of Newtown; sister, Mae Heintz of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Florence Melvin.

Mrs McIntosh was a dedicated helpmate to her late husband as they worked together to open Del-Tron Precision, Inc in Danbury in 1975. She was owner and executive vice president of Del-Tron for 25 years and continued working there until she died.

She was a generous philanthropist with major contributions, both personal and business, to local charities, including Hanahoe Memorial Children’s Clinic, United Way, and the Danbury Hospital. She was a past parishioner of St Peter Church, Danbury. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her loved ones and traveling to the family condo in Brigantine Island, N.J.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated August 26 at St Peter Church, Danbury, and interment was in St Peter Cemetery.

Donations may be made in the memory of Jeanne McIntosh to the Danbury Hospital Development Fund Praxair Cancer Center, 24 Hospital Avenue, Danbury, CT 06810, or to the Neonatal Donations Fund, made payable to the UConn Foundation, PO Box 552, Storrs, CT 06269, with an enclosed note that it is for the Neonatal Donations Fund at the UConn Health Center.
