Founded in 1974, The Connecticut Poetry Society (CPS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion and enjoyment of poetry with a 25 year tradition of excellence in publishing the work of national and Connecticut poets. Its mission is to support the art form of poetry with chapter meetings, contests, and events dedicated to CPS members throughout the state.

Chapters meet monthly, and also  sponsor readings, lectures, and related programs in their communities during the year.
