Autumn Adult Workshops From YMCA

NEW FAIRFIELD — The Regional YMCA of Western Connecticut’s Great Hollow Wilderness School & Conference Center is offering seven workshops for adults this fall. For more information on any of these workshops, call Great Hollow at 746-5852. The branch office is at 225 Route 37 in New Fairfield.

“To Decide or Not to Decide,” on September 13, will concern how to make the best personal and business decisions possible. Learn how to take in information, how to process it, and how to then use this information to formulate good decisions.

“Dreaming the Garden,” on September 15, is appropriate for all who want to create a garden at home, work, or another location. Students will discuss gardening, walk the YMCA property to view garden sites, and explore different sorts of gardens and their uses/benefits.

“Journal Writing for the Soul,” on September 16, is an experimental workshop during which participants will explore myriad benefits of journal writing, not only as a way of self-expression, but also of nurturing your essence.

“Examining the Lenses Through Which We View the World,” on September 20, is designed to help participants examine their view of the world through lenses, test their truthfulness, and enable them to alter their views so that their vision of the world gives a true picture of reality and helps them to grow emotionally, psychologically, intellectually, and spiritually.

“Are You Religious Or Are You Spiritual,” on September 27, is for those who have wrestled with a core restlessness that has many struggling to understand who we are and why we are here.

In “Treasure Map: Creating What We Want in Our Lives,” on October 13, participants will create treasure maps for themselves using pictures, words, and images cut from magazines.

The final workshop, planned for October 14, is called “Spirit: What Is It and How Do We Get in Touch With It and Nurture It in Our Daily Lives.” This workshop is designed to encourage multiple pathways and journeys related to exploration of personal spirit.
