Family: In my immediate family, I have three children and five grandchildren, and I have five brothers and sisters.

Pets: I have a cat, Sandy. She’s probably 4 or 5, and she’s a very good companion.

How long did you live in Newtown? I moved to Newtown in 1980, from New York City, with my wife, without children yet. We started our family right after we got here. I now live in Bethel.

Work: I’m a security advisor for ADT. My original work in Newtown, in 1980, was selling computers. I had a business in town for 25 years. The computer business was fabulous at the time. Everything was so new. It was demanding and challenging, and exciting.

What do you like to do in your free time? I love being with my family. Otherwise, reading and walking. I also have a seasonal garden, and I enjoy a lot of different athletic activities.

Are you a member of any organizations? Newtown Rotary. I’ve been a member over 20 years. It’s like any service organization in that it’s a great opportunity to work with other people you might not otherwise meet. The opportunity to serve the community is tremendous. I didn’t join Rotary until I was in my 50s, and that’s when you’ve usually established your family and work, and have a little bit of free time to address that need to contribute to the community. It’s a great avenue for service, and a wide range of service projects. They’ve got peace initiatives, education, women’s health, and just having access to these different ways to use your time and talents to help others makes Rotary a unique organization, and it’s international. Everybody’s busy, but there’s something to be said about being able to connect, and that’s what this club offers.

Favorite author? I read 40-50 books per year, everything, but I don’t always remember the authors’ names. I don’t have a favorite.

Favorite actor? Morgan Freeman.

Favorite movie genre? Biographies.

Favorite music genre? I like all different types of music.

What is the most recent concert you’ve been to? Dave Matthews Band. It was quite a nice concert.

Favorite album? Sailor by Steve Miller.

Favorite musician? John Mayall

Do you have any pet peeves? People driving without their headlights on.

Favorite color? Clear

What is the greatest piece of advice you have ever been given? Don’t drink alone.

What is something you cannot live without? Being outdoors.

Favorite travel destination? The beach.

What is your favorite part about Newtown? It’s a town that seems to step up to the plate and support other people.

Do you have a personal credo? Love the people you’re near and dear to. Be organic in your work to your soul.
