Organizers of The 2013 Newtown Art Festival are looking for volunteers.

Events for this year’s festival will begin on Sunday, September 15, with a Children’s Arts Party at Newtown Youth Academy, and continue daily with performances every evening, leading up to the two-day festival at Fairfield Hills on Saturday and Sunday, September 21-22.

Ushers and house managers for concerts and plays, help with set up and runners for the day of the festival, stage workers, assistants at children’s activities, aides, parking directors and generally helpful people are all needed. Volunteers of all ages are welcome.

Anyone who can offer four hours of their time (or help at an entire, but shorter, performance) will be thanked for their kind gesture with a T-shirt. In addition, high school students can earn credit for community service hours.
