JewishFest Returning To Litchfield, September 6-7

LITCHFIELD — A celebration of Jewish life — the best of Jewish music, art, crafts and food — will take place on at the 12th Annual JewishFest. The event will be held at White Memorial Conservation over Labor Day Weekend, Sunday and Monday, September 6 and 7. Doors will open at 11:30 am each day.

An eclectic mix of people from various backgrounds will gather to enjoy and celebrate the rich cultural experience of Jewish life. This event draws people from all over New England and New York for a day of various exhibitions of Jewish music, art, Judaica and crafts.

Top Jewish musicians from around the world will be performing klezmer, hip hop, Jewish country, Jewish jazz, classical music, and much more.

New York-style kosher deli and Israeli delicacies will be available throughout the festival. A large selection of Jewish art and Judaica, as well as all the New Year needs, will be for sale.

Lessons in 20 Jewish craft making traditions for children and adults will be ongoing throughout the festival. Workshops will include of the crafts will include Hanukkah menorah, havdallah candle, Shofar, yarmulke, challah baking, or designing Jewish sand art.

New for this year is a kiddy corner with inflatable rides and hay rides, to give the children the greatest time.

The festival, which organizers hope will produce rich, rewarding memories for all ages, will run rain or shine. Bring blankets or lawn chairs for seating.

Admission is $5 for adults or $10 for a family if purchased in advance, and will be $5 for adults and $2 children at the gate.

Volunteers from all faiths are still needed.
