Newtown Road Race September 4

The fifth annual Newtown Road Race 5K and Edward Doherty Memorial Kids Run will take place at 9 am in Dickinson Park on September 4, the Saturday of Labor Day Weekend.

Last year the race drew nearly 650 registered runners along with another 200 children in the fun run, and race organizers expect another big turnout this year. The course is a relatively flat fast course that begins and ends at Dickinson Park and incorporates both paved and dirt roads. T-shirts and goodie bags will be provided to the first 800 registered runners and the post race celebration is not to be missed. This is a 100 percent volunteer effort and all proceeds benefit Newtown Youth and Family Services
