Associated Bridle Trails Fall Pace Series
The Associated Bridle Trails Fall Pace Series includes events in Newtown and Middlebury as follows:
On Sunday, September 19, the Middlebury Bridle Lands Association Fall Hunter Pace will be held at Larkinâs Farm on South Street in Middlebury. Lunch is included and available for non-riders for $20. Pre-payment and pre-registration is required. Please provide proof of negative Coggins for each horse with entries. Release forms are available at www.middleburybridle.org. On Sunday, October 31, the Newtown Bridle Lands Association will host its Frost On The Pumpkin Pace at Mt Nebo Road in town. The pace runs from 8 am to noon and a buffet lunch will be held from 11 am to 2 pm. Entries close on October 28 or when full. Early registration is encouraged. Riders are encouraged to wear costumes. Prizes are given for the best costumed team, the oldest horse and rider combination, and the peanut award goes to the youngest rider. Cost is $70 for NBLA members and $75 for non-members, $45 for junior rider NBLA members, and $50 for junior rider non-members. Payment is required in advance of pace day, and there will be a $10 charge for outstanding payments on pace day. For registration information, visit www.nblact.com. All paces require approved protective headgear and suitable riding footwear (boot with heel). The paces include four divisions: Hunt, Pleasure or Hacking, Junior, and Western, and will have go-rounds at all fences. Ribbons will be awarded for first through tenth place in each division. Rides accumulate points toward series awards.
