NEW YORK CITY â The Music Memorabilia Show will fill the eighth floor of the Tip Top Building at 155 West 72nd Street on Saturday, September 13, with more than 10,000 items, from 1800s to 1980s. There will be records, LPs (331/3 rpm), 45 rpm, jazz, rock and roll, R&B, soul, blues, gospel-spiritual, soundtracks, theater music, disco, pop vocals, country, folk, opera, classical, Latin, world music, TV-radio, comedy, spoken word, big bands, swing, instrumental, Christmas and religious, sweet bands, sports, and much more at this free show.
Collectors, nostalgia lovers and music aficionados will be able to find jazz concert posters of Miles Davis, Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong and more. Rock and roll rarities feature LPs and 45 rpm records of Elvis Presley, the Beatles, Jim Morrison, The Beach Boys, The Who, Rolling Stones and others.Â
Rhythm and blues classics include the music of Little Richard, Sam Cooke, Marvin Gaye and other Motown favorites. Folk finds from Pete Seeger, Joan Baez, The Weavers, Ed McCurdy and others will be offered.
Country legends include Webb Pierce, Bob Wills, Johnny Cash, Sons of the Pioneers. Big bands are presented by Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Jimmie Lunceford, Chick Webb, Stand Kenton, Woody Herman, Artic Shaw and Quincy Jones. There is opera and classical music plus reggae from Bob Marley and Jimmy Cliff, blues from B.B. King and Ray Charles.
Rare African American sheet music from the early Twentieth Century, others from the late 1800s, photographs of rock and rollers from the 1950s on and so much more will be available.
