AVV 6-14 #703352

MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. — The Minneapolis Institute of Arts (MIA) presents the exhibition, “Pride on the Plains: Art of the Apsaalooka,” on view through October 21.

Thirty-five objects from the MIA’s permanent collection, including beadwork and parfleche, are on view in this exhibition exploring the traditions and artistic styles of the Apsaalooka peoples of south central Montana.

The first exhibition at the MIA to focus solely on a specific Native American tribe, it includes a fully decorated mannequin horse and two figures adorned with traditional beadwork created in the late 1800s, as well as pieces from contemporary artists.
