Voices Of Faith In Life Series At

St Francis Episcopal Church

STAMFORD — Rabbi Emily Korzenik will be the first guest speaker in a speaker series entitled “Voices of Faith in Life” at St Francis Episcopal Church, 2810 Long Ridge Road, beginning Sunday, September 12, and continuing on a monthly basis until early next year.

Following the 11 am Sunday service on September 12, Rabbi Korzenik will speak about “Redemption and Forgiveness from a Jewish Perspective.”

Rabbi Korzenik is Rabbi Emerita of the Fellowship for Jewish Learning, a congregation in Stamford. She was the program chair for the 15th National Workshop on Christian Jewish Relations held in Stamford, and currently serves on the Board of the InterFaith Council of Southwestern Connecticut.

Other speakers in the Voices of Faith in Life series are:

October 10: Dr Kareem Adeeb, executive director, founder and president of the American Institute for Islamic and Arabic Studies. He will speak on a Muslim’s observance of Ramadan.

October 31: The Rev Dr Scott Harris of St John’s Lutheran Church. He will offer Lutheran perspectives on the Israeli-Palestinian controversies.

November 14: Dr Paul Bracken, author and professor of political science at Yale University, on “Where Do We Go From Here? Ongoing and emerging issues concerning Iraq, terrorism and foreign policy.”

January 16: Dr Azza Karam. A writer on women’s issues, she has been director of the Women’s Program of Religions for Peace since 2000. Dr Karam will be     reflecting on the relationship between women, Islam, and modernity
