Josephine C. Mongillo

Josephine C. Mongillo, 92, of 8 Glen Hill Road, Danbury, wife of the late Joseph J. Mongillo, died at Danbury Hospital on August 22.

She was born in Danbury September 18, 1911, daughter of the late Joseph and Frances (Margotta) Chesto. She had been a lifetime Danbury resident and was a member of St Peter Church and had been a Hospice volunteer.

Josephine is survived by her daughter, Dolores Winans of Sandy Hook; a sister, Lucy Carrasccoso of Danbury; three grandsons, Christopher G. Winans and his wife Helen of New Fairfield, Matthew A. Winans and his wife Lynn of Melrose, Mass., and Timothy J. Winans of New Milford; two great-grandchildren, Grace Winans and Peter J. Winans; and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St Peter Church, Danbury, on Thursday, August 26.

Burial followed in St Peter Cemetery.

The Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury, was in charge of arrangements.
