It’s Personal

To the Editor:

It is not just personal for the Swift Boat vets but for me too! And, probably a lot more vets as well. Vietnam was behind us and its issues dormant. It was John Kerry who chooses to make Vietnam his campaign backdrop and open old wounds again. He overlooked others have memories and were affected when he turned his back on us.

All veterans, alive and dead — some of which are still rotting in those jungles — deserve more than what was a foolish, self-serving glory hunter, now a scamming senator is serving up as Vietnam credibility.

Yes, it is personal. We can not forget but forgive Jane Fonda, who has apologized; nor can we forget John Kerry who has never apologized and whose actions when he returned after four months’ duty are still an affront to all in whatever capacity or station who served honorably.

Now our tour is done. But, how can any current military member respect or trust him as a commander in chief. As parents, where is the confidence in questionable command character and his senate flip flop record as we see our own go to serve and defend us?

Sincerely,

Louis Panigutti
