In addition to William Raveisâs advertising, Rosie DeStories can offer cross marketing through her company, Fairfield Auction, one of New Englandâs premier fine art and antique auction houses. Real estate listings are advertised on the auction companyâs full color brochures, the companyâs website and in Fairfield Auctionâs print advertising. In 2003 Fairfield Auction was awarded first place for its print advertising by the National Auctioneerâs Association.
Rosie DeStories holds a bachelor of science degree from Santa Clara University and has been an auctioneer since 1985, having graduated from the World Wide College of Auctioneering. Prior to opening Fairfield Auction in Newtown four years ago, Ms DeStories was an auctioneer and partner in her familyâs auction house, Slawinski Auction Co., one of the West Coastâs largest fine art, antique and real estate auctioneers. She has auctioned residential homes, a subdivision, and a multimillion-dollar California coastal property. She has served on various boards including the California Auctioneerâs Association Board of Directors.
Locally, Rosie DeStories and her husband Jack, have raised funds for the Newtown Historical Society, Newtown Chamber of Commerce, BPW, United Way, Ridgefield and Danbury senior centers, St Rose Church, Sandy Hook and Head Oâ Meadow elementary schools, Ducks Unlimited, Musicals at Richter, and others.
âJack and I have a deep commitment to community. We believe that if everyone gives back to the community just a little, great things can be accomplished,â she said.
