Governor Will Help Celebrate Fairfield Hills Acquisition

Connecticut Governor M. Jodi Rell is among the VIPs planning to attend a formal town ceremony celebrating the acquisition of Fairfield Hills from the state. The town took formal ownership of the property following a closing three weeks ago, but town officials wanted to invite the governor to help mark the occasion formally.

According to First Selectman Herbert Rosenthal, the ceremony is scheduled for 3:30 pm on Friday, September 10. The public is welcome to attend and light refreshments will be provided.

The first selectman’s office staff plans to meet with Mr Rosenthal Friday to formalize plans. Invitations will likely be extended to state officials who worked closely with local representatives including past members of the Fairfield Hills Planning Committee and the Master Plan Committee.
