In a story entitled “NHS Welcomes First-Ever Guide Dog,” which ran in the special section “Back to School 2004” in last week’s edition of The Bee, a typographical error changed the meaning of a sentence. The sentence had to do with the efforts of Newtown High School senior Alex Snow to prepare for college. Alex, who is legally blind, will need to have college texts and other learning materials translated into media, including Braille, that will enable him to do his coursework. The sentence should have read: “‘He will have to do it himself’ – a skill he is now learning.”

Also, a caption under a photo for the Ukrainian Festival at Paproski’s Farm on Sunday, August 29, incorrectly stated that admission is free. There is a $1 admission charge.
