The Inn had to defeat Hurd Construction, 26-12, earlier in the day to earn the right to face off against Botsford. And in the top of the eighth inning of that one, with The Inn down 10-9, Jim McKee (3-for-4) belted a grand slam â his second homer of the game â to lift the Inn into the lead for good.
McKee finished with six RBI.
In the win over Hurd, Rick Kasbarian was 4-for-5 with three home runs and five RBI while Marc Adams was 5-for-5 with three singles, a double, a homer and two RBI. Chris Dennis, meanwhile, belted a home run and was intentionally walked three times.
Moving on to the game against Botsford, Kasbarian was 1-for-2 with a home run, three runs scored, four RBI and four intentional walks. Chris Dennis was 2-for-2 with a home run while Jim Dudeck, Mike Porco, and Justin Fraczek each went 3-for-5.
Chris DâAngelo and Brian Hansberg had two hits apiece. DâAngelo and Fraczek had two RBI apiece.
The Inn banged out 21 hits in the win.
In other playoff action, Jim Muraski roped a two-out, two-run single in the bottom of the ninth and Hurd Construction defeated G& H Tool, 8-7, to advanced in the double-elimination tournament.
Kyle Trocolla also paced Hurd with three hits while Frank Lancaster tripled and reached base three times. Jack Huray pitched a solid game.
