Jessie Redmond

Jessie Redmond, 87, died August 21 at Genesis Eldercare, Lebanon Center, Lebanon, N.H.

She was born in Weatherby, Mo., a daughter of Austin C. and Norma (Willburn) Roberts. She attended school in Missouri and in 1932 was married to Albert O’Dell in St Joseph, Mo. They moved to New Jersey and then to Connecticut where they raised their family. Mr O’Dell died in 1957. She married Bernard Redmond in 1959 in Newtown; they later retired to Beach Lake, Penn. In July of 2000, they moved to West Lebanon to be nearer to her daughter, and she has resided at Genesis Eldercare since October. Mr Redmond died July 24.

She is survived by a daughter, Phyllis Grady of West Lebanon, N.H.; a son, Clifford O’Dell of Sebastian, Fla.; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; a brother, Gerald Sheridan of Kansas; a half-brother, Vernon Roberts of New Jersey; and a half-sister, Alvina Maren of Sterling, N.J.

There will be a memorial service in Newtown at a later date.

Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction, Vt., is in charge of arrangements.
