Mathew Matrullo
Mathew Matrullo, 88, of Newtown, died August 24 in Reading, Mass., surrounded by his loving family. Born in Cranston, R.I., December 1, 1924, he was the son of the late Andreana (Lombardo) and Paul Matrullo. He was the beloved husband of the late Eugenia C. (Sibella) Matrullo.
Mr Matrullo was an engineer in the aerospace industry before retiring and was a World War II US Navy veteran. He was a graduate of The Johns Hopkins University and was an avid American history enthusiast. He had an insatiable curiosity about how things work and served as a handyman to friends and family.
His children and spouses Paula and Joseph A. Trapani of Westport, Steven M. and Nanette Matrullo of Reading, Mass., and Julie M. and Steven Fiskio of Duxbury, Mass.; four grandchildren, Andrew and Kelleigh Matrullo and Emma and Elliana Fiskio; and siblings Anna, Mary, and Joseph Matrullo, all of Cranston, survive Mr Matrullo.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Friday, August 30, at 11 am, in St Mary’s Church, 1525 Cranston Street, Cranston, R.I., followed by inurnment with military honors at St Ann Cemetery, Cranston. There are no visiting hours.
