Police issued violations to nine people early on the morning of Sunday, August 21, following a party at a Townâs End Road property attended by several dozen people that included a fight, physical injuries, vandalism, theft, underage people allegedly drinking alcohol, and alleged drug possession.
Police said that at about 2:05 am on August 21, they received a call reporting that a fight was in progress in the area of 2 Townâs End Road.
About 12 police were mobilized for the call, many of whom had been participating in a sobriety checkpoint that was concluding on the opposite end of town at Hawleyville Road, near Covered Bridge Road.
âPolice were advised that there were several individuals involved in this fight and that there were persons on scene that had been injured and were requesting an ambulance. Police were told there were cars leaving the scene containing individuals that were involved in this fight,â police said in a statement.
Police said that while traveling to the scene in the area of Hattertown Road and Hi Barlow Road, near Towns End Road, they spotted several vehicles coming from the Townâs End Road area, which they stopped to determine whether the people inside were involved in the incident.
Police said their investigation determined that between 50 and 75 people, mostly from the Stratford/Fairfield area, had attended the party. Some of the vehicles there received vandalism damage to their tires and windows, police said.
Two unidentified people who police found at the scene had sustained injuries, including a head laceration and a head contusion. Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps members checked the two injured people, one of whom was transported to Bridgeport Hospital for treatment of injuries, police said.
