Gervais Shines At Stafford Motor Speedway

Newtown’s Mike Gervais won his first heat race driving an SK Modified at Stafford Motor Speedway on August 19. Gervais qualified sixth for the feature and, within the first few opening laps of the 40-lap race, had worked his way into the lead. He ran out front for several laps until being passed by the national series points leader in the SK Modified class.

Gervais mounted a valiant charge at the end of the race to finish less than two seconds behind the leader, Keith Rocco, at the checker flag and claim fourth overall for the night. In 12 starts this season, Gervais has posted six top-ten finishes, one top-five finish, and sits just a couple of points outside the top-ten for the season despite one DNF. Gervais expects to be back at Stafford Motor Speedway for a 40-lap race on August 26. Upcoming races at Stafford are scheduled for September 2, 9, 16, and October 2.
