Ceremony To Honor Victims Of 9/11
Ceremony To Honor Victims Of 9/11
Local resident and former Wall Street trader Howard Lasher invites the public to attend a special memorial service, Sunday, September 11, to take place on his Route 302 property in Dodgingtown, at 8:15 am. Newtown Boy Scout Troop 270 will be in attendance at the ceremony, which will commemorate the deaths in terrorist attacks on New York City, Washington, D.C., and Pennsylvania, September 11, 2001.
Mr Lasherâs property borders the Newtown/Bethel line, and is the site of a commissioned art work by area artist David Merrill, a grove of maple trees painted to represent the American flag. The art honors the memory of several of Mr Lasherâs friends and colleagues killed in the attacks that destroyed the World Trade Center in New York.
