Motorist Michael Iassogna, 44, of 42 Brookwood Drive, who was driving a 2000 Volvo SSE sedan southward on South Main Street about 11 am August 18, stopped in preparation to make a left turn onto Peckâs Lane and was struck from behind by motorist Benjamin Gonzalez, 41, of Shelton, who was driving a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am, police report.
There were no injuries. Police charged Gonzalez with traveling an unreasonable distance apart and with driving while under suspension. Gonzalez promised police that he will appear in court on September 1.
Bridgeport Man
While on patrol about 8:30 pm August 20, police said they spotted motorist Mauricio Silva, 24, of Bridgeport stopped on the eastbound road shoulder of Route 34, near Chestnut Hill Rd, so they stopped to investigate.
Police charged Silva with driving while under suspension. After posting $250 bail, police released Silva for a September 15 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
Truck Vs Minivan
Motorist Kimberly Camire, 42, of Derry, N.H., who was driving a 2005 Pontiac Montana minivan on Mt Pleasant Road about 4:40 pm September 14, stopped to make a left turn into the driveway at 131 Mt Pleasant Road during wet conditions, police said.
As the minivan was beginning to make the turn, motorist Neal Vetrano, Jr, 52, of 160 Mt Pleasant Road, who was driving a 1996 Dodge Dakota pickup truck, attempted to stop, but collided with the minivan, police said.
The minivan was carrying six passengers of various ages, police said. There were no injuries. Police issued Vetrano a written warning for following too closely.
Honda Hits Honda
About 2:50 pm August 19, motorist Masudur Patwary, 37, of Cherry Street, who was driving a 2000 Honda CRV eastward on a wet Church Hill Road, stopped for traffic and was struck from behind by eastbound motorist Gail Honeychurch, 62, of Woodbury, who was driving a 1999 Honda Accord, police said. The collision occurred near 49 Church Hill Road.
There were no injuries. Police issued Honeychurch an infraction ticket for following too closely.
South Main DUI
Police report that at about 2 am on August 20, they observed motorist Bettina Mingolella, 43, of Monroe driving a 1996 Saturn southward on South Main Street and crossing over into the northbound lane, so they stopped her to investigate.
After field sobriety testing, police charged Mingolella with driving under the influence, failure to drive to the right on a curve, possession of less than four ounces of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
After processing the arrest, police released Mingolella on $200 bail for a September 13 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
Queen Street DUI
Police report they stopped motorist Sandra Vargas, 38, of 74 Birch Hill Road about 8:50 pm August 22 for not keeping to the right while driving on Queen Street.
Police said they gave Vargas field sobriety tests, after which they charged her with driving under the influence and failure to drive to the right.
After processing the arrest, police released Vargas on $260 bail for a September 7 court appearance.

DUI Charge
Police said they saw motorist John Wilmott, 37, of 56 Osborne Hill Road driving a vehicle eastward on Wasserman Way, which was straddling the roadâs centerline at about 7:39 pm August 23.
Police said they stopped Wilmott on Interstate 84âs Exit 11 on-ramp to investigate, after which Wilmott refused to perform sobriety tests.
Police said they charged Wilmott with driving under the influence and with failure to drive in the proper lane. Police released Wilmott on $40 bail for a September 7 court appearance.
Moving Violations
About 6:38 am August 25, police saw motorist Glen Wyman, 38, of Danbury driving eastward on Berkshire Road in Sandy Hook, after which they stopped him to investigate.
Police arrested Wyman on charges of driving while under suspension and driving an unregistered vehicle. After arrest processing, police freed Wyman on a written promise to appear in Danbury Superior Court for a September 13 arraignment.
South Main Collision
Motorist Shannon Solheim, 22, of 11 Harvest Common Road was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier sedan southward on South Main Street, near Borough Lane, on the night of August 23, when the vehicle collided with a deer, killing the animal, police report.
Solheim was not injured. Police took no enforcement.
GMC Vs Buick
About 4:30 pm August 24, a 2003 Buick Rendezvous driven by Leisha Young, 29, of Bridgeport was waiting on southbound South Main St to make a left turn into a gas station driveway at 151 South Main St, police said.
 Southbound motorist Wilson Francisco Perez, 27, of Bridgeport, who was driving a 1995 GMC van, struck the Buick from behind, police said. There were no injuries. Police issued Perez a written warning for following too closely.
DUI Arrest
About 3:30 pm August 24, motorist Gerard Petit, 52, of Brookfield, who was driving a Saab on Hawleyville Road, near Hawleyville Deli, drove into the rear end of a moving pickup truck, police report.
After the crash, in which there were no injuries, Petit drove away from the accident in the damaged Saab, police said.
Responding to the incident, police said they located Petit in the parking lot of Taunton Wine & Liquor at 147 Mt Pleasant Road, where they arrested him on charges of driving under the influence, evading responsibility, and driving without carrying proof of automotive insurance.
After arrest processing, police released Petit on $50 bail for court arraignment on Sept 8.
Traffic Signal
On August 24, police arrested motorist Gary Hayek, Jr, 37, of Stamford for allegedly driving through a red traffic signal and for driving while under suspension. After processing Hayekâs arrest, police released him on a written promise to appear in Danbury Superior Court on September 7 for arraignment on the charges.
