Housatonic Habitat Bike Challenge Debuts September 17
BROOKFIELD â Danburyâs Housatonic Habitat for Humanity kicks off its first Bicycle Challenge on Saturday, September 17, at 7 am. Riders meeting at the Congregational Church in Brookfield (corner of highways 133 and 25) can take routes of 5, 10, 25, or 50 miles through the rolling hills of Northern Fairfield County â the longer routes passing by homes built by the nonprofit home-builder.
The ride will raise money and awareness for Habitat for Humanity, and all riders who participate in fundraising are eligible for prize drawings, which includes a multiday bicycle trip for two.
Entrance fees before September 1 range from $25 (under 16) to $90 (family). All preregistered riders will receive a T-shirt; sag-wagon support and food-and-rest stops, will be available along all routes.
