To the Editor:

I moved here 54 years ago. After about a week, I felt settled enough to go get a haircut. Ricky’s salon used to be where Big Y is now.

I was sitting in the waiting area waiting for my appointment. Next to me was the first chair where a woman was getting her hair cut.

While the stylist was cutting her hair, a man was standing there talking to them.

After they left, I asked the stylist who they were. She said, “he is the editor of the town paper and that was his wife.”

So, after being in town only one week, I met one of the most important people in town!

I was in the antiques business for 30 years, and every time I saw Scudder we would talk about antiques. He was a wonderful person.
