To the Editor:

A short note just to say how grateful I am to Scudder Smith who made our world, and our little corner of Newtown, a bit more beautiful.

I knew him only to share a neighborly wave as he drove by our house in that cool car, and I think we chatted at one point in “Mr McGregor’s Garden.”

Yet, he touched our hearts every day when we drove by, walked through, and rested in the Pleasance. I imagine he had a vision, and he ran with it.

Good for him. Lucky for us!

I hope he knew what an impact he had.
