Ernest Perigyi
Ernest “Bob” Perigyi, 86, a lifelong resident of Newtown, and a loving and dedicated husband to Maryann Csvihinka Perigyi for 65 years, died August 20 at his home. He was born in Bridgeport to Susan and Charles Pirigyi.
Mr Perigyi proudly served his country as a United States Marine during the Korean War.
He worked for Paul S. Yoney, where he was a sheet metal worker, and was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers’ International Association Local Union #38 for 50 years.
He was an avid bowler and golfer, and most of all, enjoyed spending time with his family.
In addition to his beloved wife, his memory will be cherished by his loving daughters and their husbands, Susan and Larry Bailey of Newtown, Maryanne and John Harayda of Shelton, and Judy Perigyi and Stephen Henderson of San Diego, Calif. He is the beloved grandfather of six grandchildren, Joseph Harayda, Robert Harayda, Kristin Gallant, and her husband Jeff, Alisha Henderson, Judy Tracy, and her husband Mark, Paula Newmark, and her husband Roland; five great-grandchildren; and many, many loving nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Charles and Alex Perigyi; and a sister, Bessie Nagy, predeceased Mr Perigyi.
A prayer service took place August 24, in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, Fairfield Center. Interment will be private.
