Persian Gulf War Memorial Seeking To Confirm Names

The Newtown Persian Gulf Memorial Committee is still seeking to confirm names for the plaque that is being planned to be erected at the Soldiers and Sailors Monument memorial at the corner of Main Street, School House Road, and Hanover Road. The committee’s plans to erect a bronze plaque at the head of Main Street has been approved by the Board of Burgesses of the Borough.

The committee has been working off a list of about 30 potential names that have been made available to them, of which about half have been solidly confirmed and another half dozen that have been verbally confirmed.

The names they are seeking confirmation for including W. Banks, Stephen Hannah, Brian Hayward, Wayne Kobrack, John Kepler, Michael Lynch, Sean Mulvany, John Swart, Marj Stephenson, Donald Sturges, Craig Stenner, and Thad Trapp.

Anyone with any information about any of these service personnel is asked to contact any member of the committee either by phone or writing.

Certified mail letters have been sent out to the most recent known address for these men and women but additional help may be needed.

Committee members are Scott Anders, Emory Check, Dana Demand, Richard Gottmeier, Michael Hurley, Wayland Johnson, Mae Schmidle, Pierre Rochman, Charles Spiedel, and Chuck Wrinn.
