Annual Business Womenâs Forum September 21
SOUTHBURY â Building on continuous success, the Business Womenâs Forum (BWF) announces that award-winning actress Jane Seymour will be the keynote speaker the 24th Annual Business Womenâs Conference. The all-day event will be held on Thursday, September 21, at the Crowne Plaza.
BWF is the longest running scholarship conference in New England geared toward women in business. Coordinated around the theme âEmbrace Change Welcome Challenge,â the 2006 BWF event offers attendees a selection of informational and inspirational workshops as well as networking opportunities with hundreds of Connecticut business women.
Conference participants walk away with a revitalized perspective and knowledge that applies to their personal and professional lives, said Trish Torello, 2006 chairwoman of the BWF.
âThis exceptional conference will rejuvenate attendees, encouraging and enabling them to take on new challenges,â she said. âAs our following continues to grow, so does our commitment to women in business, which is why we are thrilled to have Jane Seymour as our esteemed keynote speaker.â
Attendees will have their pick of nine instructional workshops led by top industry leaders. The workshops are designed to help individuals embrace change and welcome challenges in all aspects of their busy lives.
Joanne Nesti, WVIT-TV/NBC 30 news anchor, will be leading an afternoon workshop called âExceptional Communication and Public Speaking Techniques.â Other topics include strategies for positive change, negotiating skills, developing business connections, humor in the workplace, and organizing your life.
More than 450 participants will be attending this yearâs BWF. The one-day event is made possible by the generous support of area businesses, including Wachovia Bank, The Worx Group LLC, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Barker Specialty, Connecticut Light & Power, Danbury Hospital, Space Age Copy, Stanley Foster, MD, Webster Bank, Yankee Gas Services Company, and many more.
