Sandy Hook Crash

Police report a two-vehicle accident about 7:38 pm August 23 at the intersection of Glen Road, Riverside Road, Washington Avenue, and Church Hill Road in Sandy Hook Center.

The sideswipe collision involved motorist David Rothacker, 17, of 5 Cider Mill Road, who was driving a 2002 Jeep station wagon, and motorist Matthew Spak, 42, of 24 Edgelake Drive, who was driving a 1992 Audi station wagon, police said.

There were no injuries. No enforcement action was taken due to a lack of physical evidence and conflicting accounts of the accident, police said.

Flagpole Collision

A two-vehicle collision occurred at the Main Street flagpole intersection at 5:38 pm August 17.

Police said the accident involved motorist Andrew Heller, 19, of Reservoir Road, who was driving a 2000 Subaru sedan, and motorist Anne Allain, 39, of Monroe, who was driving a 1997 Dodge sedan. There were no injuries. Police issued Heller a written warning for passing on the right.
