Greg Hilgert and Melissa Baer

Jeffrey and Patricia Hilgert of Newtown announce the engagement of their son, Greg Reeves Hilgert, to Melissa Emily Baer, the daughter of Harvey Baer and Diane Baer, both of Atlanta, Ga.

Greg, who lives in Fairfield, is a 1995 graduate of Newtown High School. He has also attended Alfred University and Columbia University. Melissa is a 2000 graduate of Dunwoody High School, and attended Florida State University.

A September wedding is planned, as is a honeymoon trip to Panama.
