Family Art Adventures At Aldrich Museum

RIDGEFIELD — Before soccer season starts, homework piles up and summer ends, The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum invites families to stretch their creative side at Family Art Adventures on Saturday, September 2, from noon to 4:30 pm.

The popular monthly program features activities with a theme connected to a current exhibition, including a hands-on project in the education center and docent-led discussions in the galleries.

Activities are included in the price of regular admission. Members and children under the age of 18 always enter free, and The Aldrich will be offering special, reduced-price family memberships on that day.

In addition to Family Art Adventures, The Aldrich will continue Drop-In Days on the third weekend of every month. Families can visit the education center any time between noon and 4:30 pm to participate in a creative activity. These activities include hands-on projects related to the current exhibitions, allowing children and families to have fun while learning more about contemporary art. Drop-In Days are free with the price of admission.

The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, at 258 Main Street in Ridgefield, is a national leader for its presentation of outstanding new art, the cultivation of emerging artists, and its innovation in museum education.

Regular museum hours are Tuesday through Sunday, noon to 5 pm, and regular admission is $7 for adults, $4 for senior citizens and college students. Members, teachers of grades K-12 and visitors ages 18 and under are admitted free of charge, and all visitors are free on Tuesdays.
