The 2007 Jim Osborne Memorial Golf Classic, hosted by the Newtown Rotary Club Foundation, will be held at Tashua Knolls Golf Course in Trumbull on Monday, September 10.

All of the net proceeds raised from the event will benefit local and regional charities, with the newly merged Newtown Youth and Family Services serving as primary beneficiary. Many sponsorship options are available, ranging from a $200 tee sponsor to a $2,500 Platinum sponsorship, which includes a foursome of golf, and more.

“We are always looking for additional tee sponsors and also for donated raffle prizes,” said John Trentacosta, chairperson of the Golf Classic. “Any contributions would be appreciated, and will ultimately benefit the community in which we live and work.”

Registration and putting contests will start at 10 am. The tournament – with a scramble format – will begin with a shotgun start at 11:30 am. Cocktails and dinner will commence at 4:30 pm with a live auction and raffle prizes at 5:30 pm.

Entry fee is $165 and includes 18 holes of golf, cart, lunch, refreshments on the course and dinner. The tournament is limited to 32 foursomes. Non-golfers are invited to join the group for cocktails and dinner at 4:30 pm ($50 per person, reservations are required).

There will be a Hole-In-One prize (a brand new car) and low gross men, low gross mixes, low gross women, closest to the pin, longest drive and straightest drive prizes, as well.
