Occupation: I am a doctor of podiatric medicine with a practice at 54 South Main Street.

Family: My wife, Annemarie, is a physical therapist. We have two children, Aidan, who is 5 years old, and Erin is 3 years old.

How long have you been in Newtown? I have been at the South Main Street location since March 2002, and I had an office on Mt Pleasant Road before that. I’ve been practicing in Newtown for 11 years. We lived in Newtown for eight years and just moved to Sleepy Hollow, N.Y., last year to be closer to the City and Annemarie’s parents.

What do you like to do in your free time? My wife and I met in a running club, so we’re both runners. But as we’ve gotten older, we both do more biking. I coach Aidan’s soccer team. I like doing things with the kids. We’re big moviegoers, too, and Annemarie loves to dance, so we are taking a salsa class now.

Do you have a favorite actor? Matt Damon might be my favorite right now. We love the Bourne movies. We loved going to the movies at Edmond Town Hall when we lived in Newtown.

Do you have a favorite travel destination? We love to travel. We did a Mediterranean cruise two years ago. We started in Rome, Italy, went to Sicily then Florence and Nice, and ended in Barcelona. We went to Hawaii for our anniversary and we went to Australia in 2000 for the Olympics. That was great. My favorite city, though, is probably Vancouver, Canada. It has a little bit of everything. The city itself is beautiful. It has mountains and it is on the water. There’s a park called Stanley Park there that has great trails for running and biking and hiking.

What is the best thing about Newtown? The sense of community. The town hall and the Labor Day Parade give that sense. I like how everyone seems to work together on a lot of different things.

If you could do something you have never done before, what would it be? I’ve always had the thought of skydiving. I’m a little bit afraid of heights, so overcoming that fear, confronting that fear by skydiving would be something I’d like to try.

Do you have a personal philosophy? We try to raise our kids with the philosophy of being good to people and treating others the way we would like to be treated. I try to enjoy life, too. I don’t want my work to rule my life.

What is the most important lesson you have learned? In life, you learn more from your mistakes than your successes. When things go wrong, you can analyze it and that’s how you become a better person.
