State police report two recent incidents at Garner Correctional Institution, the stateâs high-security prison at 50 Nunnawauk Road.
On the afternoon of August 14, two Garner inmates were arguing and a prison counselor was assaulted as a consequence of the situation, according to state police. The counselor received minor injuries.
State police arrested inmate Tyron Clemons, 31, on charges of assault on a public safety official and refusal to be fingerprinted.
Also, state police charged inmate Laron Bell, 56, with breach of peace.
Both men were scheduled for arraignment on the charges on August 15 in Danbury Superior Court.
Clemons is serving a five-year sentence in Garner on a violation of probation conviction. Bell is serving a 15-year sentence in Garner on an assault conviction.
Also, state police are investigating a separate complaint from a 40-year-old Garner inmate that a 20-year-old inmate assaulted him on August 13.
