Native American Art Festival

RIDGEFIELD — Lions Club of Ridgefield will present the 5th Annual Native American Art Festival the weekend of September 29 and 30 at Ballard Park. The festival will run 10 am to 6 pm both days, rain or shine.

Fine art will be on exhibit and available for purchase including stone, bone and clay sculptures, traditional and contemporary silver jewelry, deerskin clothing, original paintings and prints, and wood craftsmanship.

Cultural presentations will include a teepee raising at 10:15 each morning. There will also be a traditional Zuni blessing, a children’s craft corner, and Native American legends and story telling.

Clint “He Rided His Horse” will be in attendance, and there will be singing and dancing performances by Allegany River Dancers.

Native American foods consisting of venison, caribou, buffalo, fried bread and Indian tacos will all be offered.

Admission to the festival is $6 for adults, $3 for seniors and children ages 6 to 12, and free for children ages 5 and under. For additional information call 207-3809.
