Common Threads At SHU Gallery

FAIRFIELD — “Common Threads,” at SHU’s Gallery of Contemporary Art September 9 to October 11, brings together works by four artists who include in their creations the use of thread, cloth, lace or images of clothing, traditional materials and skills that were once the province of women in their daily lives: lace, muslin, sewing, quilting and embroidery. The exhibit will open on Sunday, September 9, with a reception from 1 to 3:30 pm.

An artists’ panel discussion will be hosted by the gallery on Thursday, September 13, at 7 pm. Participating will be Camille Eskell, Carey McDougall, Donna Rosenthal and Priscilla Sage, the artists who have work in the exhibition. The gallery, at 5151 Park Avenue, can be contacted by calling 203-365-7650.
